Our Work: Lick Home

Ahead of going live in Spring 2020; new paint and wallpaper brand Lick Home wanted to make a splash with their content, pre-launch.

From our initial strategy planning and meetings with Sam and Lucas (Lick’s Founders), one thing was clear. Whatever the content - whether it was educating, entertaining or inspiring - it had to have purpose.

They wanted to make sure their customers could use the site as a go-to for information on how to get things done, while at the same providing a community aspect for inspiration and ideas.

So that’s exactly how we went about it.

Lick Home: Content Strategy

After extensive SEO keyword and competitor research, the first point of call was the ‘how to’ content - spanning everything you’d image when it comes to home decor. This content is key in establishing Lick’s authority in the space both now, but down the line too.

Combining some of the competitor and keyword research with some trends analysis, part of the strategy also relied on editorial content aimed at inspiring Lick’s audience with cool and aesthetic-heavy articles. These pieces are intended to be shared, and are great for social engagement too.

Questions. There are a lot of them when it comes to home decor and renovating. And Lick are perfectly poised with their expertise to answer them! We encourage all our clients to create content around what they can, and should be talking about.

Lick Home: Content Strategy

The final part of our pre-launch content strategy was to draw in on third party expert opinion - from designers and colour consultants, to painters and decorators. Using experts in your content gives it weight and authenticity - and also allows those experts to share the content pieces on their own platforms too.

Lick Home are just getting going, and are already redesigning the home decor space as we know it - check them out here.

And whether you’re looking for consultation or full content strategy work, drop us a line - we can help with all aspects of content management and production.
